Three items of interest to report.

Number One:

Jon and I went bowling tonight, and we sucked so bad at it that we consoled ourselves by going to see the new X-Men movie afterwards. (Movie uber-rawked!)

Number Two:

Saturday night after work (at about midnight or so), two coworkers and I ran down to the country club pool and jumped in, then had to outrun security when we got caught. Ask me about it sometime; it's a pretty funny story.

Number Three:

I found a super-geeky little Stargate fan film on YouTube. It's posted below.

The seriously bad thing is that I would SO do something like this--in a heartbeat! I wish I knew techie people this geeky, so we could dress up and run around like idiots in front of a camera! Woo! Sign me up, baby!

Totally bored at the moment, so I re-did my layout. Again. (Read: Nerd)

The background is in honor of my brand-spankin'-new volume of Samurai Deeper Kyo, one of my very favorite manga. Featured is Onime no Kyo himself, the series' resident anti-hero nutcase and all-around bad***. *hugglesquishie*

The header is actually Russian, and is taken from Kanno Yoko's "Inner Universe"--the opening song for Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex. Awesome, awesome song. The lyric reads: "Endless run... while I'm alive, I can try not to fall while flying."

The profile pic is a chibi Seraph Sephiroth. Yes, you heard me right. Put that in your pipe and smoke it!

Gretchen and I crashed Dan's house tonight, and we all watched FF7:AC. Mind you, I've seen the thing, like, nine times now, but Dan and Greta hadn't seen the dubbed version (which rocked utterly), so there you go.

In deference to our gracious host, Gretchen and I tried to keep our fangirlish drooling and squeeing to a quiet minimum. I think we did an admirable job, considering the CG droolables wandering around on the screen. Between the Angsty!Hawt, the Undead!Hawt, the Psycho!Hawt, the MorePsycho!Hawt, the Loopy!Hawt, the Punk!Hawt, the Hick!Hawt, the Shades!Hawt, the AlmostChinese!Hawt, and the DeadBoyfriend!Hawt, we pretty much had to stuff mops in our faces to keep our drool in check.

Anyway, at some point during our hush-hush slobberfest, the following dialogue took place:

CANDIS: *eyeballing screen* Oh yeah, I'll take one of those.

GRETCHEN: Oh, yeeeah.

CANDIS: ...There's something wrong with us.

GRETCHEN: No, there isn't. It's perfectly normal.

CANDIS: Are you serious? What's normal about this?

GRETCHEN: *indicates screen* How can anyone see that and not want it?

It's so true! I heart you, Gretchen!
